Shah Rukh Khan-Aditya’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi impresses Globally

MUMBAI: Amidst doomsday prophecies and bad reviews (from a section of the trade and media), the audience has given its verdict. It is obvious that we are referring to Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, the film that marks the third time teaming up of wizard director Aditya Chopra and Bollywood super–star, Shah Rukh Khan.

As per the numbers made available, RNBDJ has netted a superb 25 crores during its first weekend in India. In the overseas, the film has predictably swept the audience off their feet, reiterating Shah Rukh’s massive global following.

Checking out the Overseas numbers, the film has grossed an amazing (estimated for 105 screens) $1.25 million from US and a good £403 842 from UK, during the initial weekend. Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has also grossed $ 18,000 (highest print average of the week) from New Zealand with Australia pegging in with $131,475. The weekend also saw $1 million from the Middle East and $30,760 from South Africa amongst other places.

If those are the stats for the first three days and with a quite stable (the dreaded) Monday, one can imagine the first week windfall!
