PML-N Submitted a Privilege Motion in The NA Against Justice Zawar

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League (PML)-N submitted a privilege motion in the National Assembly (NA) against Justice Zawar Hussain of Supreme Court.

Chairman NA standing committee for education Abid Sher Ali and member NA Hanif Abbasi.

The members in their motion stated that Parliament is a supreme body and Supreme Court judge have no right to summon chairman of Parliament’s standing committee. A three-member bench of Supreme Court has dismissed the stay order against the petition filed in Farah case, which proved that Justice Zawar’s decision of givining stay order was wrong.

Earlier, Supreme Court f Pakistan issued a stay order, suspending the National Assembly Standing Committee’s investigation into the case of Farah Hameed Dogar.

SC’s former deputy attorney general had filed a petition requesting inactivation of the NA Standing Committee for Education into the Farah Hameed’s case.

SC Judge, Justice Zawar Jafri, giving his remarks, said the Committee has no authority to demand records in connection with the above investigation or carry out the probe.

SC issued separate notices to chairmen Federal Board of Education and NA Standing Committee for Education, staying the hearing of the case indefinitely.
