'US Missiles Strike Kills 6 In South Waziristan' Pakistan
PESHAWAR :A suspected US spy drone fired two missiles on Thursday into South Waziristan area killing at least six people, security officials said.
"Two missiles were fired, completely destroying the house. First reports confirm six dead," a security official told AFP on condition of anonymity after the strike in South Waziristan.
The exact target of the attack was unclear, he added.
There was no immediate confirmation of the strike from the military or from the US-led coalition in Afghanistan.
A local resident said two spy drones were still circling over the scene and people feared further missile strikes.
The United States has stepped up attacks on militants in tribal regions since a new civilian government came to power in March, and the incidents have become an issue in the US presidential election.
