PPP, CPC Sign MoU To Boost Ties In All Fields


BEIJING: The ruling political parties of the two countries—Pakistan People’s Party and Communist Party of China - here Wednesday signed MoU to strengthen contacts in all spheres of life.

The Secretary General of PPP Jahangir Badar and Minister for the International Department of CPC Central Committee Wang Jia Rui signed the MoU on behalf of their respective political parties.

The Media Advisor to the President Farhatullah Babar was also present on the occasion.

The PPP Secretary General Jahangir Bardar, while talking to a Pakistan-based news agency after the ceremony said the signing of MoU between the two political parties was decided when the Chairman of PPP Bilawal Bhutto Zardari visited China in August this year.

“The MoU reached between PPP and CPC will help not only to consolidate the existing friendship but also carry these ties to generations to come”, he noted.

The MoU envisages exchange of various delegations including, traders and businessmen, students, youths, lawyers, women and political workers from both sides.

He said that exchange of delegations would help further strengthen the foundation of friendship laid by founding Chairman of PPP Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Chairman Mao Zhe Dong.

Jahangir Badar said that during his meeting with Mr. Wang both side agreed that an Asian Youth Conference will jointly be held for which date and venue will be deiced with mutual consultations. “Youths from all Asian countries will participate in this Conference”, he noted.

The MoU will also pave way for signing a number of other agreements in diverse fields, the SG of PPP said. The current landmark visit of President Asif Ali Zardari is a big breakthrough in further cementing Sino-Pak bonds in all areas of cooperation, he said.

Earlier, welcoming the Secretary General of the ruling PPP, Minister Wang Jia Rui said that President Zardari’s visit to China will help further fostering ties between two neighbour countries.

He said that currently the international situation was facing many challenges including financial crisis and there is need that both the countries should share each other experience of each other.
