SEOUL:4 people asleep in a shipping container were killed when a fire swept through their makeshift home in the South Korean capital Saturday, police said.
The four, including a 57-year-old worker and his friends, suffocated in their sleep when the fire broke out inside the modified container early Saturday, police said.
The container was one of many used as makeshift houses by low-income earners. They usually have a bedroom, kitchen and a toilet and are supplied with power.
The blaze was quickly contained, police said, adding they suspected an electrical short circuit may have caused the fire.
