Parliament To Discuss Policy Issues Today

ISLAMABAD: A policy statement on deteriorating law and order situation in the country, especially in Fata, and Pakistan’s engagement in war on terror is likely to be issued by the government in today’s in-camera session of the Parliament to be resumed here Thursday.

Speaker National Assembly Dr Fehmida Mirza will preside over the session.

The Parliament might ask the government to take immediate measures to resolve the issue of militancy in tribal areas, besides asking for the details of peace pacts with different local tribes and Taliban’s leaders signed by the government on various occasions in past, reported ARY OneWorld.

In yesterday’s meeting of the in-camera session, various parliamentarians, both from treasury and opposition benches, had criticized the government on not adopting a clear-cut policy on terrorism.
