Bhairavi mourns her friends

Life will not be the same for Bhairavi Goswami again.

The model-turned-actress who featured in Bheja Fry and My Friend Ganesha was at the Trident with her NRI boyfriend and seven friends when terror struck the city of Mumbai. The couple had a tiff and walked out in a huff, but her friends, some of whom were NRIs and foreigners, remained at the restaurant there. Now, the actress blames herself for the tragedy that followed.

“They wanted to go somewhere else, but I insisted on the Trident, as I am a regular there,” she said recalling that horrible Wednesday evening. “My boyfriend and I left the place but before we knew, the place was attacked and the guests inside taken as hostages. I shouldn’t have left them that night. I just feel numb. I am a very strong girl. I could have made all of them jump out of the first floor. I could have saved them,” said Bhairavi. The actress says she had plans to celebrate the New Year with these friends. “No celebrations for me now. Something in me has died. I am scarred for life. I cannot be the same again. Nobody can fill the void that’s created,” she said with a sense of emptiness.
