PESHAWAR: Provincial Minister for Agriculture, Arbab Muhammad Ayub Jan has said that three new small dams would be completed in NWFP by the end of 2009 and power generated from it would be provided at cheaper rates to the people of the Province. He said that construction of new dams would help in overcoming the current power crises besides bolstering the industrial and agricultural sectors.
He expressed these views while talking to various delegations of Gujar, Muhammad Zai, Gulozai, Wadpaga, Nasirpur, Tarnab Farm and Jagra areas, said a press release here on Friday.
The Provincial Minister turned down the recent increase of Rs.2.13 per unit in the power tarrif.
He maintained that electricity should be provided at Rs.4 per unit to NWFP so as to provide relief to the masses.
