Nuclear deal signed between Russia and India


NEW DELHI: The visiting Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh signed nuclear pact here, television reports said.

The two countries would cooperate with each other in nuclear field.

Russia will help to build four new nuclear reactors to produce energy in southern India but defence and space deals were also to be finalised.

Medvedev is the first head of state to visit India following the Mumbai attacks a week ago and has already pledged Moscow’s support to India in the anti-terror fight.
