U.S. missile strikes undermining Pak army’s strategy: Gilani
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said missile strikes are undermining Pakistan army’s strategy to control the situation in those areas.
In an interview with CNN, he agreed that some suicide attacks were happening directly because of missiles attacks.
Pakistan has no agreement with US allowing it to carry out incursions inside its territory, he said.
“As for as my government is concerned, certainly we have no agreement with the US to continue air attacks inside the Pakistan area.”
The Prime Minister said if United States interferes like this, then the sentiments against US, NATO and the West will rise.
To a question whether Pakistan has plans to shoot down the drone, he said, “That is not the case. But we have to form a strategy in future.”
The government would decide on a strategy to stop strikes, he added.
He said US President‑elect Barack Obama seems to be a genuine and straightforward person.
