RAWALPINDI: Pakistan acted against Jamaatud Daawa’s (JD) operations in order to avoid United Nations sanctions, Defence Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar said on Friday.
“Had we not banned JD in line with the UN Security Council resolution, we would have been declared a terrorist state,” he told reporters. “We would fight our enemy but cannot fight the whole world,” the minister said.
“We are not afraid of war and are prepared for it, but Pakistan believes in peace and that war is not a solution to any problem,” Mukhtar said.
