Polling Begins In 2 IOK Districts Amid Anger

OCCUPIED SRINAGAR: With sub-zero temperature, heavy contingents of security forces and deserted polling stations, voting began as per schedule in two south districts of Indian-occupied Kashmir, Pulwama and Shopian, here Saturday morning.

Polling began in the six constituencies of Tral, Pampore, Pulwama, Rajpora, Shopian and Wachi at 8 am, where voters will elect six representatives for the 87-member puppet assembly in the fifth phase of elections in Indian-held territory.

The caretaker puppet government of Kashmir has already placed the frontline leadership of All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC), including Mirwaiz Umer Farooq and Syed Ali Shah Gilani, to restrict them from leading an anti-poll march to the Pulwama and Shopian district headquarters.
