ISLAMABAD: Deposed CJ Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry’s caravan has been stopped on Shahrah-e-Dastoor, as short while ago justice Iftikhar accompanied by other lawyers’ leaders had left his residence for Supreme Court Bar.

District Administration said that Shahrah-e-Dastoor was the red zone, therefore, other than justice Iftikhar’ car would not be allowed to pas through from here. Heavy contingents of police and Rangers were also presents over there.

It may be recalled that the Islamabad administration had sealed all the roads leading to the Judges’ colony and media and lawyers’ leaders entry into the colony was stopped by setting up police posts over there. However, some lawyers’ leaders and the Geo team breaking all barriers succeeded in reaching the residence of the deposed CJ. Earlier, SC administration had also locked up the SC main gate and barred the entry of SC Bar Association’s President, Aitzaz and member executive committee, Ali Ahmad Kurd. Lawyers’ leaders and the management had exchanged hot words on this occasion. Later Anti-terrorist Squad along with the police and Rangers was also deployed outside SC building. On the other hand, SC Bar president, Aitzaz told that as the members of the SC Bar executive committee were not being allowed to come, therefore, the venue of the meeting has been changed and now this meeting would be held at his residence.
