Multi-Tier Security Plan For Jammu-Kashmir Polls Finalised


Jammu: With the stage set for the first phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir on November 17, Director General of Police (DGP) Kuldeep Khoda today finalised the multi-tier security plan for polling stations at a meeting here.

Poll related arrangements in Jammu zone, where first phase of polling will be held on November 17 in Poonch, were reviewed and finalised at a high level meeting of police officers here.

Khoda said the security of the political leaders and contesting candidates in particular is of paramount importance.

DGP instructed staff to ensure total security of polling stations, candidates and rallies besides coordination among various wings of poll security to hold free, fair and incident free elections.

All possible security arrangements have been ensured including finalisation of security plan of the polling station, including sensitive and hyper sensitive ones for the smooth conduct of elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

The transport plan, deployment of polling parties to different polling stations, security arrangements and accommodation were also discussed during the meeting.

Inspector General of Police (IGP) Jammu zone, K Rajendra Kumar discussed the arrangements with DGP in detail and briefed the officers present about the security scenario.
