BAGHDAD: Police say four people were killed and seven others wounded
when two roadside bombs exploded during the morning rush hour near a
checkpoint in central Baghdad.
A security official says
Thursday’s attack in the capital’s Sunni enclave of Sheik Omar occurred
at a checkpoint manned by members of Awakening Council.
Awakening Council is the term for mostly Sunni groups that have joined forces with the Americans against al-Qaida in Iraq.
