ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army Chief General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani Monday made it clear to the US that Pakistan would defend itself tooth and nail should India impose a war, TheNation has reliably learnt.According to the sources, General Kayani made these remarks while talking to the US Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Mike Mullen who called on him Monday night.
General Kayani made it clear that Pakistan wanted peace in the region but will not tolerate pressure from any side. He also made it clear that Pakistan desired to revive the suspended peace process with India on equal grounds.
The US Commander appreciated Pakistan efforts in tackling the menace of terrorism and extremism.
They had an exchange of views on Pak-India situation, war on terror, border situation between Pakistan and Afghanistan and overall security in the region.
