So far though, Parker remains undecided.
This is a deadline without any teeth. There is nothing that says it can’t stretch past today and it is looking more and more like it will. Colorado has until August to negotiate with Parker. The reason for the 7/20 date was to give Dabo Swinney and his staff ample time to know if they will have their incumbent quarterback running the team or not.
Reports out of Colorado claim it will take two million dollars for Parker to walk away from football. If Parker decided to play football the Rockies would pay about half of that and spread out the signing bonus until he finished on the gridiron.
There is also a report out of Denver that indicates Parker could be close to inking a deal with the Rockies.
