KARACHI: Led by Mahela Jayawardene, a 14-member Sri Lankan squad arrived Karachi today, on the first phase of their tour to Pakistan to play three One-Day International against the home team starting from January 20. Sanath Jayasuriya had reached Karachi this morning. The first two Day/Night ODIs will be played at National Stadium on January 20-21 while third match of the series will be played at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore on January 24.
After the short ODI series, Sri Lankan will return back to Pakistan on February 14 to play a three-day side game and two Test matches against the hosts in February/March.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has arranged the tour after India pulled-off of their schedule tour to Pakistan after Mumbai attacks.
Visiting Sri Lankan squad comprises of Mahela Jayawardene (capt), Kumar Sangakkara (wk), Sanath Jayasuriya, Upul Tharanga, Chamara Kapugedera, Jehan Mubarak, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Thilina Kandamby, Muthiah Muralitharan, Ajantha Mendis, Farveez Maharoof, Dilhara Fernando, Nuwan Kulasekara, Thilan Thushara, Angelo Mathews.
